Every year Gerald Griffin introduces his beginning painting class with a late Rexburg local Sergei Bangart, with a doggeared VHS tape. On the tape is an interview with Sergei, and there were two things from the interview I will never forget. This post I will tell one of them.
"When you do a good painting, you feel like you're on top of the world. Sometimes, when you do a bad painting, you want to hang yourself."
(Perhaps I should mention Sergei is Russian, and, by the tradition of Russian literature, is emotionally heavy in his words.)
Sometimes, when photo shoot is done right, you feel like on top of the world.
